CADProps
Browser-based CAD tools for viewing, measuring, converting, comparing, and sharing engineering models without installing desktop software.
About CADProps
CADProps is an online CAD workspace for inspecting parts, assemblies, and drawings in a browser. It supports STEP, IGES, STL, OBJ, 3MF, GLB, glTF, DWG, DXF, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, Parasolid, ACIS, and JT files.
Viewing and measurement work without an account. Users must register or sign in to convert models, save files across devices, and create share links. Uploads are limited to 50 MiB per file, while expanded ZIP assemblies can reach 100 MiB and contain up to 2,000 bodies.
Measurement tools cover coordinates, distances, edge lengths, circle diameters, angles, surface area, volume, and weight estimates based on a user-selected density. CADProps also supports property exports, model images, visual revision comparison, STEP solid differences, batch processing, and conversion into several CAD and mesh formats.
Files are processed on CADProps servers. Guest uploads normally expire after about one hour, signed-in files expire 90 days after their last use, and shared model snapshots can remain available for 7 or 30 days. Traffic uses HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or TLS 1.3.

Features
- Browser-based STEP viewing and measurement
- CAD model comparison and geometry properties
- Calculates solid differences between valid STEP model pairs
- Converts supported files to STEP, IGES, STL, OBJ, 3MF, glTF, or GLB
- - Creates password-protected model shares lasting 7 or 30 days
Use Cases
- Check supplier CAD files during design handoffs
- Inspect model dimensions before prototyping
- Estimate component weight using volume and material density
- Export properties from multiple models into a CSV file
- Share an interactive 3D model with a customer or colleague

FAQ
Are uploaded models used to train AI systems?
No. CADProps states that uploaded files, model data, and measurements are not used for AI training.
Are CAD files sent to another processing provider?
No. Processing runs on the server hosting CADProps, without sending original CAD files to an external CAD processing service.
Does the viewer work on mobile devices?
Yes. The viewer has a responsive layout and touch controls for mobile browsers.
What storage and sharing limits apply to accounts?
Account storage is limited to 200 MB, with up to 10 active model shares.
What happens to files that fail processing?
Private diagnostic copies can be retained without automatic expiry until an operator removes them. Users can contact support to request removal.
