IcyZip is a browser-based text and file transfer tool for moving information between two devices without creating an account, installing an app, or setting up a cloud drive. Open IcyZip on one device, scan the QR code with the other, and the two browsers form a temporary paired session.
A shared live text field makes it easy to move links, notes, one-time codes, snippets, and clipboard content between a phone and computer. When a file is needed, the same connection can transfer one selected file directly between the paired browsers.
IcyZip encrypts text and file data in the browser before it is relayed, using browser-generated keys and separate encryption contexts for text and files. The service does not store live text or received files as persistent server content, although it processes operational metadata such as connection timing, message size, browser class, and IP-derived country.
The tool includes QR or direct-link pairing, reconnect handling, local draft recovery, and browser fallbacks. It is suited to quick, private handoffs when both devices are nearby.
