WaveXML
Local Mac and Windows app that syncs camera footage with Zoom or Sound Devices audio through Resolve, Premiere, Final Cut, and XML round trips.
About WaveXML
WaveXML is a desktop video and audio utility for editors who record sound separately from their cameras. It takes an XML timeline exported from DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or compatible FCP 7 workflows, compares overlapping audio waveforms, and returns a synchronized XML timeline ready to import back into the same editor. The workflow is built for dual-system shoots: a Zoom, MixPre, Sound Devices, or similar recorder supplies the main audio while camera tracks provide reference sound. WaveXML handles the sync pass across a whole shoot, including multiple cameras and long takes, when enough overlapping audio is available.
It supports FCPXML, FCP7 XML, and XMEML round trips without requiring a plugin or media upload. Processing stays on the user’s computer, and the app writes a new XML instead of modifying source media. The full app is currently free in beta for macOS and Windows, with no clip or feature limits.
It suits wedding, event, interview, documentary, and other productions that need a focused waveform-sync step before multicam editing.
